Skincare advice (dermopharmacy)
Our dermopharmacy section helps you choose the right care for your skin type: sun protection (essential on the Costa del Sol), sensitive or atopic skin, anti-ageing, acne and hair care. Professional advice, no obligation to buy.
What you will find in our dermopharmacy
We stock the leading pharmacy skincare brands and, more importantly, we apply pharmaceutical judgement: we look at your skin type, your current routine and your goals before recommending anything.
- Sun care: facial and body sunscreens, children’s protection, sun-allergy-prone skin.
- Sensitive and atopic skin: cleansing, hydration and skin-barrier repair.
- Anti-ageing and pigmentation: cosmetic retinoids, vitamin C, exfoliating acids.
- Acne and oily skin: gentle, effective cleansing and treatment routines.
- Hair care: seasonal hair loss, dandruff, sensitive scalp.
Why ask a pharmacist?
Pharmacy skincare advice comes from a healthcare professional who knows the active ingredients and their interactions — for instance, whether you are taking photosensitising medication, or whether a cosmetic could interfere with a prescribed dermatological treatment. Living on the Mediterranean coast, with intense sun all year round, makes this expertise particularly relevant.
How does it work?
Come in and tell us what you need — in English if you prefer. The assessment is free and without obligation: we would rather recommend a short, well-chosen routine than a shelf full of products.
Frequently asked questions
What sun protection do I need in Torrox Costa?
With over 300 days of sunshine a year in the Axarquía, we recommend SPF 50+ daily for the face, reapplied every 2 hours during direct exposure. The UV index here is higher than in Northern Europe for much of the year — we help you choose the right texture and factor.
Can you help with eczema or acne?
We advise on suitable cleansing and skincare products. If we see signs that need medical assessment, we will recommend you see a doctor or dermatologist.
Do you do skin diagnosis?
We assess your skin type and its cosmetic needs to recommend a routine. This does not replace a medical diagnosis by a dermatologist.
